first single for an album i'll release in 2024.

i made this song after a pair of shows in Saskatchewan in November 2022. the second of those two shows was my first as a solo artist in Regina. Brandon from Thinktank had invited me to perform at T+A Vintage, a cute vintage shop just north of downtown.

there was a handful of other great performers, but in order to tell the story of this song i need to give special mention to mileshigh. their set really inspired me. rather than try to put it into words, you can get a glimpse of it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=cigRgP7l_hg&t=

when i returned to Winnipeg, i was champing at the bit to make a new song. with that set in mind, i started creating "brain." its a simple song, really. based on a sample foundation, the drums and vocal dynamics drive the song.

its not necessarily emblematic of the rest of the album, but some of my fans were eager to hear this one recorded.
